Willie Ruth "Billie" Godwin

Mrs. Willie Ruth “Billie” Godwin, age 91, of Boaz, Alabama, died on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at her residence.

 A funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, at 2 o’clock pm in the McRae Chapel with Dustin Brock officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Tree Cemetery. A visitation will be on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.

 Mrs. Godwin was born in Dekalb County, Alabama on August 31, 1933, to John R. & Florence Stone Hardeman. She was a retired manager for Eastern Airlines with 30 years of service. She was a member of the Blessing Church of Christ. 

Mrs. Godwin is survived by her Sister: Joyce Timmons of Anniston and Step-daughter: Ann Dale of Texas and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents: John R. & Florence Stone Hardeman, Husbands: Eddie Palmer and Earl Godwin, Brothers: Bob Hardeman and Ira Hardeman and Sisters: Johnnie Bell, Naomi Pack, and Virginia Edmondson. Special thanks to Enhabit Hospice for the great care you gave our sweet aunt and sister. 

Pallbearers will be Nicholaus Edmondson, Carter Harrison, John Lott, Cason Bloodworth, Bunky Adams, and Ronnie Bruce.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to either Myrtle Tree Cemetery Fund or the Blessing Cemetery Fund.
