Wanda Nell Pledger

Mrs. Wanda Nell Pledger, age 88 of Horton, Alabama, died on Monday, January 1, 2024, at Diversacare of Boaz.

A funeral service will be held at two o’clock pm, Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the McRae Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Neal Faucett and Jeff Holderfield will officiate. Interment will follow in the Union Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from noon until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pledger was born in Albertville, Alabama on January 19, 1935, to Charlie & Bonita Rice Elrod.

Mrs. Pledger is survived by her Daughter: Myra & Todd Gordon of Horton, Grandsons: Toby Strawn and Trey Strawn all of Horton, Great Grandchildren: Teagan Strawn, Sadie Strawn and Liam Strawn, Siblings: Jody Elrod, Sheridan Edmonds, Charlene Stone and Tina Taylor.  She was preceded in death by her Parents: Charlie & Bonita Elrod, Husband: Lavell Pledger, Daughter: Glenda Pledger, Siblings: James Thomas Elrod, Mary Whitaker, and Cooter Elrod.

Pallbearers will be Toby Strawn, Trey Strawn, David Reed, Charlie Stone, Bart Chandler, and Jeff Elrod.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 1779 Mt. Sinai Road, Horton, AL 35980.
