Mr. Thomas Auburn “Tom” Gilbreath, age 70 of Brown Street, Boaz, Alabama, died Friday, June 20, 2014 at his residence.
Service will be held Monday, June 23, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Hewett Memorial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tammy Jackson and the Rev. Sam Huffstutler will be officiating with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. McRae Funeral Home, Boaz is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Gilbreath was born in Mobile, Alabama on March 9, 1944 to T.A. & Gladys Jackson Gilbreath. After a long career in the poultry industry, he most recently retired as owner of Wells Brothers Realty in Boaz.
Mr. Gilbreath is survived by his Wife: Betty Mayes Gilbreath of Boaz, Son: Thomas Gilbreath of Tuscaloosa, Daughter & Son-in-Law: Susan & Tom St. John of Hoover, Granddaughters: Teryn Mask and Clara Grace St. John, Sisters & Brothers-in-Law: Lynette & Van Priest of Boaz, Debbie & Robert Rosser of Sardis and Glenda & Dan Lawrence of Florida.
Pallbearers will be Al Hethcox, Tommy Biddle, Skip Spicuzza, Matt Burnett, Brooks Clark and Ray Kennamer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marshall –Dekalb Electric Board of Directors and the Rotary Club of Boaz.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to one of the following: Hewett Memorial UMC, Marshall Medical Centers Cancer Center or Hospice of Marshall County.
