Theradell Wilks
August 15, 1927 — October 16, 2011
Mr. Theradell "Butch" Wilks age 84, of Hoover formerly of Boaz, Alabama, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 at his residence.
A private family funeral service will be held with interment in Lathamville Cemetery. McRae Funeral Home of Boaz, Alabama is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday from Eleven until 1:00 p.m. at McRae Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilks was born on Aug. 15, 1927 to the Rev. Samuel Dewey & Willie Frasier Wilks. He was a proud WWII Army Veteran and was retired from the Teamsters Union. Mr. & Mrs. Wilks greatly enjoyed traveling after his retirement.
Mr. Wilks is survived by his: Wife: Hazel Hendrix Wilks of Hoover, Sons: Jerry Wilks of Guntersville and Ronnie Wilks of Hoover, Daughter: Brenda Davis of Pelham, Grandchildren: Wendy Conner, Jennifer Wilks, Joni Putzig, Linzy Brakefield & James "Wes" Brakefield, Great Grandchildren: Brianna Brakefield, Jake McDowell, Carson McDowell, Emma Putzig, Ella Putzig, Maia Goswami and Chloe Brakefield, Sister & Brother-in-Law: Nellie & James Morrison, Brothers-in-Law & Sisters-in-Law: Charles & Faye Hall, Earlene Thompson and Magdalene Wilks. Mr. Wilks was preceded in death by his Son: Jimmy Dale Wilks, Parents: Rev. Samuel Dewey & Willie Frasier Wilks, Brother: Vernell Dewey Wilks, Sisters: Von Lee Kiker and Syble Ollie Mae Moore.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Hospice Service of Alabama, 2367 Lakeside Drive, Suite B1, Birmingham, AL 35244.
