Shirley Walker

Shirley Walker, age 77, of Boaz, Alabama died June 7, 2020 at her residence.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2020, in McRae Funeral Home Chapel with Jerri Manasco and Doyle Parker officiating with burial in Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Walker was born in Alabama on December 8, 1942 to Poley & Eunice Breaseale Umphrey. She was a homemaker for her husband and family.
She is survived by her son: Lamar Walker of Boaz; daughter & son-in-law: Lorri & Mack Johnson of Harvest; grandchildren: Amanda Whitt, Jonathan Walker, Alexandria Walker, and Savannah Johnson; great-grandchildren: Presley Whitt, Drake Whitt, Ava Stone and Jacklynn Stone; brothers: Dale Umphrey, Melvin Umphrey and Glenn Umphrey all of Boaz; sisters: Wilma Brooks of Altoona, Lynda Mitchell of Moody and Syble LaRue of Albertville. She is preceded in death by her husband: Louie Walker; parents: Poley & Eunice Umphrey; and sister Olliva Watkins.

Pallbearers will be Mike Mitchell, Jonathan Walker, Larry Brooks, Doug Holmes, Derrick Whitt, and Kelly Umphrey.

The family will accept flowers or in lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to either the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 ,  or the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305.
