Sarah Roden Arrington

Mrs. Sarah Roden Arrington, age 94, of Boaz, Alabama, died on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital. 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 2:30 pm at the First Baptist Church Boaz with Bro. Joseph Dunkin and Bro. Steve Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 1:00 pm until service time at the church. 

Mrs. Arrington was born in Jackson County, Alabama on September 30, 1930, to Jeremiah & Clara Woodfin Roden. She was a retired kindergarten teacher.

 Mrs. Arrington is survived by her Sons: Stephen & Becky Arrington of Boaz, Gerald & Dianne Arrington of Kimberly, Glenn Arrington of Boaz, and Neal & Jill Arrington of Boaz, Daughter: Nita & Dr. Philip Maddox of Huntsville, 13 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Brothers: Ralph Roden of Geraldine and Don Roden of Pisgah and Sisters: Orpah Dunkin of Ft. Payne and Kathryn Brown of Evergreen. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Jeremiah & Clara Roden, Husband: Millard Arrington, Son: David Arrington, and Granddaughter: Natalie Arrington.

 Pallbearers will be Justin Arrington, Jeremiah Arrington, Jonathan Arrington, Andrew Maddox, Justin James, and Wesley James.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Boaz Children’s Ministry in memory of Sarah’s years of service as a kindergarten Sunday School teacher and her deep love for children, P.O. Box 337, Boaz, AL 35957.
