Rev. Larry Kenneth Fry, age: 62 of Boaz, Alabama lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Shepherd's Cove.
Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at McRae Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Liberty Cemetery at Aroney. Bro. Mark Hall, Bro. Kenneth Lasseter and Bro. Joe Wise will be officiating. McRae Funeral Home, Boaz, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday evening 5:30 until 8:00 at the funeral home.
Bro. Fry was of the Baptist faith. He shared God's word for 32 years and pastured six churches within Etowah and Dekalb Counties. His hoppy of horseshoeing became his passion and it was during these visits with his customers that he got to expand his ministry and witness Christ to others.
Rev. Fry is survived by his: Wife of 44 years: Donna Dorough Fry, Daughter & Son-in-Law: Heather & Tony McCormick, Grandsons: Austin and Tyler McCormick all of Sardis, Mother: Gladys Fry of Rainbow City, Brothers & Sister-in-Law: Johnny & Debbie Fry and Jerry Fry both of Rainbow City and Sister & Brother-in-Law: Janice & Richard Betts of Gadsden and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lamar Morton, Larry Nance, Sonny Nance, Robert Samples, Dennis Rosson and Johnny Hopkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bro. Jerry Tucker, Donnie Kelly, Jimmie Childers and Larry Brooks.
We would like to express gratitude for all the calls, visits, food and cares that were sent during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice of Marshall County or the Liberty Cemetery Fund.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, II Timothy 4:7. Our faith remains strong as we know we will meet again one joyous day. We love you Pop!
