Ray Powell

Mr. Ray Powell, age 75, of Laura Ave, Boaz died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral Service will be Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the McRae Chapel with interment to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Dr. Jonathan Powell, Rev. Scottie Tarvin, Rev. Brent Roe and Rev. Wayne White will be officiating. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home. McRae Funeral Home is directing.

Mr. Powell was born in Etowah County, Alabama on January 13, 1943 to William Thomas & Willie Mae McDowell Powell. He was a retired nuclear medical technician.

Mr. Powell is survived by his Wife: Carolyn Powell of Boaz, Son & Daughter-in-Law: Jonathan & Jeniffer of Boaz, Granddaughters: Jaelie-Grace Powell and Josian-Faith Powell, Brothers & Sister-in-Law: Roger & Brenda Powell and Randy Powell all of Boaz, Sister-in-Law & Brother-in-Law: Regina & Sam Stringer of Montgomery, Nieces: Melanie Moore of Boaz, Amanda Foxx of Albertville and Meghan Stringer of Washington, DC, 3 Great Nieces, Aunts: Vermell Powell of Boaz and Maggie Ramey of Anniston. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents: William T. & Willie Mae Powell.

Pallbearers will be Clint Foxx, Roger Gibson, Robert Counterman, Jack Foster, Earl Davenport, Alton Sauls, Frank Carver, Rooney Blackman, Jamie Griffith and Ben Carver. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nick Pendley, Bart Johnson, Stanley Seay and the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class.
