Mrs. Marie S. Holmes, 84, of Fairview Cove Road, Altoona, Alabama, died Friday, July 3, 2015 at her residence.
Service will be Sunday, July 5, 2015, Two o'clock p.m. at McRae Chapel. Bro. Kerry Bryant and Bro. Jimmy Umphrey will be officiating. McRae Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Holmes was born in Alabama on June 1, 1931 to Trannie & Vergie Hammett Summerford. She was a retired packer for the Snead Manufacturing.
Mrs. Holmes is survived by her Daughter: Jennie Holmes of Altoona, Brother & Sister-in-Law: Harold & Pat Summerford of Altoona, 8 chosen grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Eldridge Holmes, Parents: Trannie & Vergie Summerford, Daughter: Ginger Holmes McBrayer, Son: Lamar Holmes and 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Pallbearers will be her nephews: Ray Roberson, Will Jacobs, Nathan Jacobs, Craig Summerford, Dylan Summerford and Alton Holmes. Honorary Pallbearers will be nieces and nephews
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations a charity of choice.
