Junior Morton

Lee Morton Oak Drive Boaz, Alabama Lee Morton, last surviving son of Mamie and Brown Morton, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at his home in Sardis City, (Boaz) Alabama. The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Goforth and Rev. Gene Taylor officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the church. Happily married to Mary Hubbard Morton, Lee was the proud father of Danny Lee Morton, Joy Morton Moore (Pete), Terry Ray Morton, Jerry Rex Morton (Denise). He delighted in his grandchildren, Tara Morton Stein (Jason), Dr. Willard Anson Moore II, Amanda Moore Woods (Matt) and William Garrison Morton, and his three great-grandchildren. After studying at Snead College, he served honorably in both the Army and Navy. For most of his life, he travelled the world as project manager with Schindler-Escalator Division. He oversaw international installations in countries such as Saudia Arabia, Switzerland, and Korea and major domestic projects in the United States. He revelled in sharing tales of the people and experiences he encountered on his travels. How appropriate that he left this earth on Sunday. A lifelong learner, he spent hours pouring over his well-read Bible in preparation the Sunday School classes he taught for years after his retirement. He loved the Lord and loved telling of His Savior.
