Johnny Wier

Mr. Johnny Wier, age 88, of Boaz, Alabama, died on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.

 Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at two o’clock pm in the McRae Chapel with Bro. Doyce Putman officiating. Eulogy given by nieces Michelle Baker Weathers, Deborah Baker. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 12:30pm-2:00pm at the funeral home.

 Mr. Wier was born in Talladega, Alabama on March 15, 1936, to Ben Thomas & Clifford Mae Ford Wier. He was retired from commercial construction. Johnny loved watching Alabama football and NASCAR, being outdoors. He will be remembered for his good nature and practical jokes. 

 Mr. Wier is survived by his Sister: Bennie Edwards of Prattville, Brother-in-Law: Richard Otinger of Boaz, Sisters-in-Law: Pauline Morton of Huntsville, and Jorene Kendrick of Mississippi, and a host of nieces and nephews. 

  He was preceded in death by his Parents: Ben and Clifford Mae Wier, Wife: Marie Otinger Wier, Brothers: Albert Wier, Allen Wier, T.G. Wier, Thomas Wier, Carl Wier, and Everett Wier, and Sisters: Earnestine Wolf, Joyce Carden, Frankie Delano Arnett, and Barbara Bates.
