John Lang

Mr. John Henry "PaPa John" Lang , age 80, of Brashers Chapel Rd., Guntersville, went home to Heaven on April 3, 2013 at Shepherd's Cove.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at McRae Chapel Bro. Nellon Smith and Bro. Jeff Stanford officiating with interment to follow in the Pineview Cemetery. McRae Funeral Home, Boaz, Alabama in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lang was born in on April 28, 1932 to Carl & Bell Filmore Lang. He was a native and lifelong resident of Marshall County, Alabama. John had numerous jobs over the course of his life including working for the City of Albertville and he also operated the Marshall Drive-in. Mr. Lang displayed a passion for gardening and fixing anything broken. He loved sharing those talents with family and friends. Mr. Lang had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of Rose Road Church of God. He was devoted to his family. His spiritual warmth and generosity knew no bounds. In his final days his smile and gentle sweet sprit endeared him to all those who came in contact with him. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.

Mr. Lang is survived by his loving wife of 17 years Hazel Ray Lang of Guntersville, Sons & Daughters -in-Law: Dewayne & Suzanne Ray of Guntersville, Neil & Jessica Ray of Albertville and Kevin & Lisa Ray of Guntersville. He leaves behind happy memories for his grandchildren: Carson & Abbey Ray, Carlie Ray, Raven Ray, Zack Ray, Chelsea Ray, Kassie Ray, Natasha Ray and Kolton Ray.

Mr. Lang was preceded in death by his Parents: Carl & Bell Lang, Sister: Essie Duncan, Brothers: Marvin & Page Jim Lang.

Pallbearers will be: Leon Duncan, James Duncan, Shannon Stracener, Wilson Lang, Eric Hedgepath, Jimmy Tarvin, Anthony Smith and Billy Wayne Smith. . Family request flowers or donations to Hospice of Marshall County.
