Joe "J. C." Birdsong

Mr. Joe Conner “J. C.” Birdsong, age 98, of Boaz, Alabama, died on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at his residence. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11 o’clock am in the McRae Chapel with Bro. David Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Bethsaida Cemetery. A visitation will be on Friday evening, June 28, 2024, from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.

 Mr. Birdsong was born in Alabama on February 26, 1926, to George & Dera Smith Birdsong. He was a proud Navy Veteran of WWII and retired from NASA.

 Mr. Birdsong is survived by his Son: Randall & Carol Birdsong of Huntsville, Daughter: Connie Birdsong of Boaz, Grandsons: Conner Birdsong (Karla) and Wesley Birdsong (Holly), Great Grandchildren: Tait Birdsong, Asher Birdsong and Danna Birdsong. He was preceded in death by his Parents: George & Dera Birdsong and Wife: Melba Birdsong.

 Serving as pallbearers will be Conner Birdsong, Wesley Birdsong, Gary Price, Ricky Price, Patrick Walker, and Jose Lopez.

 In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Bethsaida Cemetery Fund, 2539 Bethsaida Road, Boaz, AL 35957.
