Mr. James Hill, age 86, of Altoona, died on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at his Residence.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at noon in the chapel of McRae Funeral Home with Bro. Ray “Red” Rowan and Bro. Jimmy Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Hill was born in Etowah County, to Van & Alma Brackett Hill. He was a retired cook.
Mr. Hill is survived by his Son & Daughter-in-Law: Terry & Tina Walls of Altoona. Daughter & Sons-in-Law: Kellie & Bo Davenport of Altoona and David Bynum of Gadsden. Grandchildren: Stephanie & Johnny Collins, Crystal & David Schilleci, Misty Walls, Ashlee Strawn. Great Grandchildren: Lucas Collins, Lexie Collins, Nichole Wilemon, Jonathan Collins, Justin Collins, Jeremiah Haisten, Jana Wright, Jacob Schilleci, Liam Strawn, Sadie Strawn, Zane Priest, Nevaeh Priest, Gavin Hamilton, and a host of Great Great Grandchildren, Brother: Jimmy Hill of Southside, Sister: Jean & Darrell Childress of Albertville, Chosen Brother: Larry & Mary Brackett of Rainbow City. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his Parents: Van & Alma Hill, Wife: Janith Hill, Daughter: Kim Bynum, Brothers: Ray Hill, J.L. Hill, Frank Hill and Delmus Hill, Sisters: Irene Garrison, Madalene Tuttle and Betty Duncan.
Pallbearers will be: Lucas Collins, Jeremiah Haisten, Jacob Schilleci, Jacob Wright, Nick Campbell, and David Schilleci. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Bo Davenport, Johnny Collins, Johnny Lyles, Darrell Childress, Larry Brackett, and David Bynum.
