James Roger "Coach" Harris

Mr. James Roger “Coach” Harris age 77 of Boaz died on Friday, November 10, 2023, at his residence.

Funeral service will be held at Two o’clock p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the McRae Chapel with Dr. Michael Goforth, Bro. Doyce Putman and Bro. Jarrod Shields officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery at Double Bridges. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:00 pm – 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Harris was born in Alabama on May 19, 1946, to Robert Macon & Cora Lee Roberts Harris. He Served 2 years in Vietnam, member and Ordained Deacon, usher, stewart of Sardis Baptist Church where he also went on numerous mission trips. Mr. Harris also retired from Goodyear with 35 years of service.

Mr. Harris is survived by his Wife: Margaret Ann Propes Harris of Boaz. Daughter & Son-in-Law: Melissa & Tommy Hudgins of Boaz. Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Robert & Pansy Harris of Albertville. 17 Grandchildren & 9 Great Grandchildren. Sister & Brother-in-Law: Frances & Melvin Shields of Boaz. Brother & Sister-in-Law: Jackie & Hazel Harris of Georgia.

Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his Parents: Robert Macon & Cora Lee Roberts Harris. Son: Charles Harris. Sister: Carolyn Harris Griffin. Brother: Gerald Harris.

Pallbearers will be Ray Amberson, Trey Hodgens, Chris Alexander, Tony King, Mike Bradberry, Conny Stracener, Charles Parker.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Little, Bud Moore, Don Burndett.
