J. Bennett

Mr. J. R. Bennett age 78, of Lingerfelt Lane, Boaz, Alabama, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral service will be Friday, May 6, 2016, Eleven o'clock a.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Bro. David Martin will be officiating. McRae Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday evening from five until eight at the funeral home. Mr. Bennett will lie-in-State at the church from 10:00 until service time on Friday.

Mr. Bennett was born in Tennessee on Nov. 25, 1937 to Clyde & Essie Kennedy Bennett. He was the retired owner of several mobile home manufacturing companies.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife: Laura Bell Bennett of Boaz, Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Rick & Karen Bennett of Florida, Keith & Janet Bennett of Boaz, Steven & Jakeeli Bennett of Arkansas, Daughter: Deborah Harris of Union Grove, 9 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson, Brother: Rodney Bennett of Phoenix City. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Clyde & Essie Bennett and a Brother: William "Bill" Bennett.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Harris, Jaimy Harris, Ricky Bennett, Brad Bennett, Kyle Bennett, Bryan Bennett, Jordan Harris, John Tyler and Elija Harris.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Building Fund, 2650 Pine St, Albertville, AL 35950.
