Ms. Iva Lee Simpson Slaten, 69, of Snellgrove Avenue, Boaz, died Saturday, June 11, 2016. Service will be at two o'clock p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at McRae Chapel with Bro. Wayne White officiating. Interment will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery. McRae Funeral Home, Boaz is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday from noon until funeral time at the funeral home. Ms. Slaten was born in Alabama on August 6, 1946 to Silvie & Eula Godfrey Simpson. She was a seamstress at the Lee plant.
Ms. Slaten is survived by her Daughter & Son-in-Law: Karen & Ray Amberson of Boaz, Grandchildren: Ashley & Jarrod Hand and Will Amberson, Brother: Claude Simpson of Boaz, Sisters: Melba Costner, Mildred Pack, Nelline Sawyers and Susan Kimble all of Bessemer, Special friends: Ronnie Scruggs, Bobby Tate, Sheila Dempsey and Irene Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents: Silvie & Eula Simpson, Brothers: Delon Wayne Simpson, O. B. Simpson, Joe Horace Simpson and Roger Dale Simpson.
Pallbearers will be Will Amberson, Rusty Simpson, Josh Simpson, Wesley Simpson, Jarrod Hand and Shane Phillips.
