Mr. Guy Deen Slaton, age 85 of County Road 4, Boaz, Alabama died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral service will be Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist, with Bro. Mark Hall and Bro. Jimmy McCormick officiating, interment to follow in the adjoining Cemetery. McRae Funeral Home of Boaz, Alabama is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until funeral time at the church.
Mr. Slaton was born Dec. 1, 1927 to Luther & Alma Bearden Slaton. He was a retired farmer .
Mr. Slaton is survived by his: wife of 58 years: Doris Naler Slaton of Boaz, Daughter & Son-in-Law: Connie & David Cosper of Pell City, Brother: James Slaton of Sardis, Sister: Loreen McCormick of Boaz. Mr. Slaton was preceded in death by his Parents, son: Micka Todd Slaton, and siblings: Fleida Inez Funderburg, Idell Naylor, Gavin Slaton, Harvey Slaton, Wynona Griffin, Annie Bell Williams and Mazeine Camp.
Pallbearers will be Lee Cobb, Bruce Naler, Walker Hood, Jimmy McCormick, Gerald McCormick and Charles Ford. Honorary pallbearer will be David Cosper.
The family is accepting flowers or suggests donations to the Liberty cemetery fund.
