Glenda Jackson

Mrs. Glenda Jackson, age 91, of Boaz, Alabama, died on Friday, August 9, 2024, at her residence. 

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 1:30 o’clock pm in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Bro. Gerald Thomas officiating. A visitation will be on Tuesday August 13, 2024, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Jackson was born in Alabama on January 2, 1933, to Casper and Effie Phillips Speegle. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Boaz since 1959. She served on the Boaz Beautification Board, assisted with “meals on wheels”, was a member of the study club and a substitute teacher. 

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her Son: Edward Allan Jackson (Kim) of Birmingham, Daughter: Donna K. Fricks (Richard) of Sardis, Grandsons:

Jeremy Fricks and Jonathan Fricks, Brother: Jimmy Speegle (Sherion) of Priceville and Sister: Sue Smith (Carlton) of Pinson, Sister-in-Law: Estelle Jackson of Warren, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Casper & Effie Speegle her Husband: Marion Jackson, Jr, Brother: Jack Speegle (Loease) and Sister: Vivian Chambers (J. B.).

 Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Fricks, Jonathan Fricks, Paul West, Ken Casey, Ronnie Casey, and Donnie Casey. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, 408 Martlin Road, Albertville, AL 35951.
