Mr. Gaines Russell Hammond age 76, of Trico Drive, Guntersville, Alabama, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012 in Guntersville.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012 at McRae Chapel with Bro. Tony Gunter, Bro. Robin Scott and Terry Bentley officiating. McRae Funeral Home of Boaz; Alabama is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until funeral time.
Mr. Hammond was born in DeKalb County, Alabama on Aug. 2, 1936 to Homer Jackson & Gladys Pamela Harbin Hammond.
Mr. Hammond is survived by his: Wife: Barbara Davis Hammond of Guntersville, Son & Daughter-in-Law: Dr. Timothy J. & Angela Hammond of Tuscaloosa, Daughter & Son-in-Law: Virginia "Ginger" & John Sharp of Guntersville, Grandchildren: Michael Hammond, Chelsea & Rohan Lloyd, Jordan Armstrong, Dallas Sharp, Colin Hammond, Great Grandchildren: Ethan Gaines Lloyd and Charley Anne Lloyd (expected). In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Genesis Ministry c/o Guntersville First United Methodist Church, 539 Gunter Avenue, Guntersville, AL 35976. .
