Mr. Edward Lew Howren, age 86, of Peach Ave., Albertville, Alabama died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at Anniston Regional Medical Center.
Service will be Monday February 14, 2011, at P.M. at McRae Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Richard Pettijohn and Bro. Jonathan Lancaster officiating. Interment followed in Crestwood Cemetery. McRae Funeral Home of Boaz, Alabama was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday evening 6 - 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Howren was born in Piedmont, Alabama on Sept. 14, 1924 to Charley & Margaret Howren. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corp.
Mr. Howren is survived by his Wife: Martha Morton Howren of Albertville, Sons: Charles Howren and Stace Morton, Daughters & Son-in-law: Selena Morton and Pattie & Kent Burchsted, Grandchildren: Mark Howren, Christi Mason, Michelle Johnson, Nathan (Kelsey) Campbell, Lauren Campbell, Julia Burchsted and Addie Morton, Great Grandchildren: Katlyn & Makalya, Special friends: Ollie & Ruby Steward of Piedmont. Mr. Howren was preceded in death by his parents: Charley & Margaret Howren and Brother: Walter Howren. The family would like to thank the staff of Riverview CCU and Nolan Long Term Care Facility.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Bruce, Jason Roberts, Billy Faucett, Oscar Sims, Ken McCormick and Kent Burchsted. Honorary Pallbearers were the James Lambert Sunday School Class, Gene Eller and Richard Kelly. The family is accepting flowers or donations to the American Diabetes Association.
