Mr. Edward Harrol Dismukes, age 93, of Cullman, Alabama, died on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Marshall Medical Center South.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at two o’clock p.m. at the Cullman City Cemetery with Darryl Briscoe officiating and eulogy by Timothy Harrol McRae. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from noon until 1:30 pm at the Westside Baptist Church, Cullman.
Mr. Dismukes was born in Holly Pond, Alabama on July 26, 1930, to Milze & Omie Crumbley Dismukes. He led a fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. He was a graduate of Holly Pond High School, served in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from the Alabama Highway Department. Harrol’s true essence, however, shone through in his roles as a husband, father, uncle, and friend.
Known for his warm and loving nature, Harrol was a pillar of strength and support to those around him. His charming personality touched the hearts of many and left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Mr. Dismukes is survived by his special friend Betty McWhorter of Decatur, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Faye NeSmith Dismukes, his son Harrol Lloyd Dismukes, his parents Milze & Omie Dismukes, brother Hulett Dismukes, and sisters Agnes Wilcutt and Ann Howard.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Traylor, Derrick Traylor, Michael Dismukes, David Howard, Ethan Howard, Dalton Dismukes, Ken Bates, and Chase Freeman.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to his church, Westside Baptist Church, 711 Cleveland SW, Cullman, AL 35055. In loving memory of Edward Harrol Dismukes - a man of integrity, kindness, and love whose presence will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
