Doris "Dot" Ledbetter

Mrs. Doris “Dot” Ledbetter age: 97 of Boaz, Alabama died April 29, 2023, at her residence.

A graveside service will be held at three o’clock pm Monday, May 1, 2023, at the Hillcrest Cemetery with Bro. Keith Dodd and Bro. Jonathan Lancaster officiating. There will not be a formal visitation.

Mrs. Ledbetter was born in Alabama on February 17, 1926, the first child of Burtis & Valera Barksdale Scott. She worked at the H. D. Lee Company and retired in 1988. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, volunteering, reading, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and attending church at First Baptist Church Boaz.

She is survived by her Sons & daughters-in-law: Thomas “Tommy” Thompson & Patricia of Boaz, William “Bill” Thompson & Wanda of Fayetteville, Tennessee and Bruce Thompson of Guntersville, grandchildren: Carrie Thompson (Jeff Skelton) of Birmingham, Josh Thompson (Krystal) of Chattanooga, Dylan Thompson of Boaz, and Lee Thompson (Aubrey Abuan) of Boaz, great granddaughter: Emaline Thompson of Chattanooga, sister: Syble Duke of Sardis, former daughter-in-law: Andrea Thompson and stepson: Gerry Ledbetter (Carolyn) of Boaz. She was preceded in death by her Husbands: Thomas G. “Bunk” Thompson and Horace Ledbetter, Brothers: Harold, Lynn, and Michael Scott, Sisters: Nell Scott Hudgins and Jean Scott Leeth, Grandson John Thompson, Granddaughter: Carly Thompson and Stepson: Ted Ledbetter.

In lieu of flowers, Dot has requested donations to First Baptist Church Boaz, P.O.Box 337, Boaz, AL 35957.
