David Whitt

Mr. David Joseph Whitt, age 70, of Mt. Sinai Road, Horton, Alabama, died on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at his residence.

Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at two o’clock p.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery with the Bro. Mike Whitt and Bro. Lanier Nail officiating. There will be no formal visitation. The family ask that you continue to respect social distancing and the wearing of masks. Please save your hugs and handshakes for happier, healthier times.

Mr. Whitt was born in Alabama on June 28, 1950 to Zelmer & Annie Ruth Gamel Whitt. He was a retired educator having taught at Susan Moore High School for many years. Mr. Whitt is survived by his wife: Janice Whitt of Horton Son & Daughter-in-Law: Matthew & Cara Whitt of Horton, Daughter & Son-in-Law: Abbi & Michael Griffin of Athens, Stepchildren: Lanier & Kari Nail of Florence and Robin & Glenn Wise of North Carolina, 9 Grandchildren and Sisters: Ruby Jo Tiller of Birmingham and Shirley Brock of Boaz.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, 408 Martling Road, Albertville, AL 35951.
