Charles Edward Carnes

Mr. Charles Edward Carnes, age 72 of Lindo Drive, Boaz, died on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Huntsville Hospital.

A funeral service will be at four o’clock pm on Sunday, September 3, 2023, in the McRae Funeral Home Chapel with Jeri Manasco and Dewie Grimsley officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, September 3, 2023, from 2 until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Carnes was born in Alabama on September 7, 1950, to J. M and Betty Faye Acker Carnes.

Mr. Carnes is survived by his wife: Rejannia McCormick Carnes of Boaz, Daughter-in-Law: Amber Whitmire Carnes of Boaz, Granddaughters: Elizabeth Ann Carnes, Zoe Alexandria Carnes, and Avery Jane Carnes all of Boaz, Sisters:  Brenda Carnes Bagwell and Buford, and Cathy Carnes Dickerson and Frankie all of Albertville, Brother: Joey Carnes and Sheila of Sardis, Sister-in-Law: Geraldine McCormick Gladden & Leon, a wonderful family of nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents: J. M and Betty Faye Carnes, Son: Charles Matthew Carnes, Parents-in-law: Roy & Wilma McCormick, and sister-in-law: Dorothy McCormick Quarles.

Pallbearers will be Brad McCamy, Jason McCamy, Lee Gladden, Chad Gladden, David Talley, and Larry Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Crestview Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the building fund of the Crestview Church of Christ.
