Bobbie Lou Maltbie

Mrs. Bobbie Lou Lacks Maltbie, age 83, of Boaz, Alabama, died on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Marshall Medical Center South.

The funeral service will be held at two o’clock pm Sunday, November 26, 2023, in the McRae Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason King officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday November 26, 2023, from noon until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Maltbie was born in Alabama on July 1, 1940, to George Cecil & Mildred Inez Snead Lacks. She was a retired schoolteacher at Boaz Elementary School. She attended Sneads Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she was a lifetime member.

Mrs. Maltbie is survived by her daughter & son-in-law: Donna Thornton & William of Southside, Granddaughters: Erin Gilbreath & David Darrell, Ashley Gilbreath Jester & Jered, and Sophia Thornton, Great Grandchildren: Laken Jester, Wilder Jester, Bryn Jester, Crew Jester, and Tripp Jester, Brother: Ted Lacks & Kathy, Sister: Louise Willoughby & Tommy all of Boaz. She was preceded in death by her parents: Cecil & Inez Lacks, Husband: Robert Neil Maltbie, Daughter: Pam Maltbie Gilbreath, Brother: Tommy Lacks, and Sister: Carolyn Garrard.

Pallbearers will be Chris Willoughby, Jon Willoughby, Jeremy Lacks, Matt Lacks, Scott Lacks, and Jon Roden.
